JPEG export#

Choose JPEG image from Export overview when you need an annotated visual copy of the graph rather than a numerical data file. GraphX creates a JPEG from the source image at the source image's original intrinsic width and height, not from the current browser viewport.

What is drawn#

The source image is the base of the JPEG. GraphX overlays point markers and point-number labels for every dataset whose Export checkbox is enabled. Markers use the dataset colours, and their outlines and labels are scaled for the source-image dimensions so they remain legible on both small and high-resolution images.

Because the result is source-image based, current pan, zoom, panels, toolbars, cursor coordinates, and other application chrome are absent. The JPEG does not include trendlines, the cursor crosshair, calibration handles, Axis lock guides, project notes, or an unaccepted Trace curve preview.

The dataset Export checkbox affects JPEG point overlays in the same way it affects CSV and raw dataset content in PDF reports. A trendline's separate Export checkbox has no effect on JPEG output.

When to use JPEG#

JPEG is useful for a presentation, email, lab note, or a visual check that shows which points were selected on the original graph. It is a raster and lossy image format, so it is not the right output for preserving exact numerical values. Use CSV and copied data for data interchange or PDF reports for a fuller printable record.

The exported file name uses the project name, Image, and the local browser export time, for example Solubility study - Image - 2026-09-19 202843.jpg.
